Chase Away Crows, Starlings and Grackles with the Bird Chaser Bird Deterrent
Chase Away Crows, Starlings and Grackles with the Bird Chaser Bird Deterrent
Crows, starlings and
grackles can cause all kinds of problems when they move into an area. These are
flocking birds and their numbers alone can be intimidating. Starling flocks
often number in the hundreds, but can be in the thousands at times and they
tend to fly together creating large, dark “clouds” of birds in the sky. Crows,
starlings and grackles are also social birds and can be very noisy when they
are in their flocks. Often these pest
birds roost in trees above parked cars, whitewashing the cars below with their
sprayed bird droppings. Droppings and
nesting materials can cause issues in machinery, create slip and fall hazards
and add considerable costs to maintenance for regular cleanup.
So how do you get rid of these pesky birds?
If the crows, starlings or grackles have just “moved in”, a great
product is the new Bird Chaser bird deterrent.
This is an innovative optical bird harassment & behavior modification
device that activates the pest birds’ fear and flight instinct, driving them to
seek another location to hang out that is ‘safer.’
The Bird Chaser bird deterrent is a banded string of transparent fiber that is
twisted into a configuration that reflects irregular light beams from the sun
into the problem birds’ eyes. This limits their vision and disorients them. The
flashes from the Bird Chaser bounce in many different directions. The
crows/starlings/grackles see flashes all over the place and believe they are
surrounded by predators moving quickly all around them. Make sure to mount the Bird Chaser where it
is free to move in the wind so that it can spin freely and reflect the light
constantly.
The Bird Chaser can be used at nighttime as well, reflecting any light shone on
it. This will provide disruption at
nighttime as well which is particularly important as making the
crows/starlings/grackles feel disoriented at night so their sleep is
interrupted is important in encouraging them to find another location besides
your property.
Mount the Bird Chaser near or below the problem area where the pest birds are
hanging out. The Bird Chaser covers approximately 164 square feet and can be
mounted to posts. If the flock is very
large or the area the birds are hanging out in is beyond that size area, then
use another Bird Chaser as well. This
product can be combined with a few other audio/visual bird deterrents to create
a true “fear zone” for the birds. For example, adding a Gull Cat Bird Scare Decoy and a few Bird Scare Eye Balloons can anchor in the idea that there are real
predators in the area. Scatter a few Dead Crow Bird Scare Decoys so the birds see “fresh kill” (move them daily)
and the birds will be convinced that they need to leave. The Bird Distress & Predator Calls CD has crow, starling and grackle distress calls
and natural predator calls and can be played through any media system. Combining a few of these products together
increases the fear and flight response of these pest birds and is extremely
effective.
